HR and Benefits Coordinator - Human Resources

Position Summary
The Human Resources and Benefits Coordinator aids with and facilitates the human resource processes at Cherry County Hospital and Clinic. This role administers employee health and welfare plans and acts as liaison between employees and insurance providers. This position resolves benefits-related problems and ensures effective use of plans and positive employee relations. The HR and Benefits Coordinator ensures plans are administered in accordance with federal and state regulations and that plan provisions are followed. The HR and Benefits Coordinator will plan, coordinator and promote CCH’s wellness program. This role also provides administrative support to Human Resource functions as needed, including record keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Administers health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes and terminations. Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.
• Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
• Reconciles benefits statements.
• May serve as payroll processing backup.
• Conducts audits of payroll deductions, benefits or other HR programs and recommends corrective action.
• Development and implementation of CCH’s health and wellness programs and initiatives to promote a healthy and productive work environment.
• Plan and coordinate activities such as health screenings, health fairs, nutrition and exercise programs for employees.
• Monitor and evaluates wellness program effectiveness and make necessary changes.
• Develop and deliver presentations on health and wellness topics.
• Collaborate with other departments to promote a culture of health and wellness.
• Assists with the preparation of the performance review process.
• Schedules meetings as requested by the HR Director.
• Makes photocopies, mails, scans and emails documents; and performs other administrative functions.
• Assists with on-boarding new employees; processes new hire paperwork
• Serves as backup for processing bi-weekly payroll; updates payroll-related information, correcting any payroll errors.
• Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resources files and records.
• Coordinates the employee termination process; schedules exit interviews, verifies return of company property, notifies IT and employee health of employment end date.
• Provides information to the public or staff that requires the use of judgement and the interpretation of policies, rules, or procedures. Refers more complex questions to the HR Director.
• Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations, as requested.
• Complies with Cherry County Hospital personnel policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Knowledgeable of HIPAA regulations
Minimum Job Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field preferred
• HR certification preferred
• 2+ years of Human Resources, or related, work experience
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
• This is mostly a sedentary job. This position rarely requires the ability to lift, push, pull, and/or carry large or heavy amounts.
