Position Summary:
Cherry County Hospital is seeking a Clinical Informatics Specialist (CIS) to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a professional role model in promoting the understanding, integration, and application of healthcare information technology. The CIS acts as a crucial liaison between healthcare providers and information technology, supporting the implementation, learning, use, adoption, and optimization of clinical information applications. This position is essential in enhancing clinical efficiency and improving the quality of patient care.
Essential Job Duties:
- Promote the mission, vision, and values of Cherry County Hospital.
- Collaborate with Meditech and department leaders to optimize Electronic Health Record (EHR) workflows for improved Meditech scorecards.
- Implement applications, tools, and processes to assist clinicians in managing data for patient care.
- Work with healthcare providers to set up and maintain electronic prescribing credentials through Dr. First and Meditech.
- Assist in onboarding healthcare providers by developing EHR training and providing support for a smooth transition.
- Serve as a primary resource for daily operational issues within the EHR.
- Assist with user configuration and setup in clinical systems in conjunction with the CIO.
- Manage Meditech web portal access and tickets related to EHR and IT end users.
- Develop and maintain system design, build, implementation, and testing for Meditech projects.
- Participate in go-lives and provide support during non-business hours.
- Support basic management of Microsoft Active Directory.
- Perform daily helpdesk duties and rotate on-call responsibilities.
- Other duties as assigned, primarily during daytime office hours, with occasional nights and weekends as needed.
Other Job Duties:
Commitment to corporate compliance policies and procedures, knowledge of HIPAA regulations, and ensuring confidentiality of patient records. Compliance with Cherry County Hospital personnel policies is required.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of 3 years of Meditech experience; advanced education certifications may be considered equivalent.
- Preferred experience in Clinical Informatics within a healthcare system utilizing Meditech.
