Nurse Aide
Job Opening: Nurse Aide/ CNA
Location: Cherry County Hospital
Position Type: Part-Time
Reports To: Nursing Supervisor
Shift: Varied (includes days, nights, weekend days, and weekend nights) – typically 2 twelve-hour shifts per week, with the possibility of additional shifts.

Position Summary:
Cherry County Hospital and Clinic is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and dependable Nurse Aide to join our team on a part-time basis. As a member of our healthcare team, the Nurse Aide is responsible for providing direct care to patients under the guidance of the professional nursing staff, while ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of all individuals in our care. This position involves a wide range of duties in both clinical and non-clinical settings.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist with patient care tasks such as bathing, back rubs, bed making, taking vital signs, feeding, and performing tests (such as specimen collection and hema test).
- Assist with patient admissions, transfers, discharges, and care of ICU and terminal patients.
- Maintain cleanliness of patient rooms, utility rooms, and nourishment centers.
- Respond promptly to patient requests, answer patient lights, and notify nursing staff as needed.
- Manage phone and public inquiries professionally and tactfully.
- Participate in workshops, assist with training new staff, and attend required staff meetings.
- Assist with clerical duties like recording vitals and dietary requirements.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to corporate compliance, HIPAA, and all privacy policies.
- Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to assist with a variety of tasks.

Skills and Abilities Required:
- Knowledge of proper body mechanics and hospital procedures.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and other privacy laws.
- Good judgment and the ability to work independently while following directions.
- Willingness to work with patients, staff, and the public in a professional and compassionate manner.
- Ability to manage tasks effectively, even in a fast-paced or challenging environment.
- Must be comfortable with both routine and potentially unpleasant tasks involved in patient care.

Minimum Job Requirements:
- Completion of at least one year of high school.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Completion of a nurse aide checklist or similar training.
- Ability to lift and position patients and manage physical demands associated with patient care.
- Knowledge of state and federal privacy laws and hospital policies regarding protected health information.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
- Work involves lifting, positioning, and assisting patients.
- Ability to move easily around patients and equipment.
- Exposure to potentially hazardous materials such as body fluids.
- Repetitive use of hands, arms, and eyes, which may result in strain.
- Regular working hours with the possibility of overtime.
- Environment requires close proximity to others in a clean and controlled space.

Hourly Base Rate – Competitive
-Shift Differential:
*Sunday – Thursday Nights - $3.50/hour
*Friday – Saturday Nights - $4.50/hour
*Weekend Days $2.50/hour
